Your role as Consolidation Manager should have an overview and help improve processes in consolidation teams. The group financial reporting and consolidation process is operated by the Consolidation Manager under the leadership of the Team Lead Group Consolidation. You will communicate with the Japanese branch and subsidiaries in the EMEA region.

As a member of the Group Consolidation team, the Consolidation Manager is responsible for:
  • accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting from the group entities on a monthly basis
  • activities assigned relating to group consolidation and preparing monthly consolidated group financial statements in accordance with IFRS together with the required standard set of financial and business data
  • Presentation to external stakeholders, esp. external auditors, lenders, and to internal stakeholders, esp. CFO, BoD, Audit & Supervisory Committee, IR.

Main responsibilities and accountabilities:
  • Provide the data and documents to the external auditors for quarterly reviews and yearly audits of consolidated group financial statements (IFRS), and another external request to explain and support special-purpose covering group audits and local statutory audits, and other financial accounting assurance services esp. J-SOX audits
  • Support remediation of any audit findings and recommendations provided by internal and external auditors
  • Support the consolidation process also for statutory forecast, budget, and plan
  • Influence and drive process improvement, efficiency, standardization, and risk management for the financial reporting and consolidation process
  • Support a compliant and consistent global financial closing, reporting
  • Maintain the principles and rules around segregation of duties, including access to financial reporting systems (e.g. user profiles, authorizations, etc.)
  • Collaborate with global statutory accounting and policy and procedure team
  • Supporting and monitoring the correct application of global policy to the reporting package


What do we expect from our future colleague?
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Engineering
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA (or equivalent qualified accountant)
  • 10 years post qualified experience in financial reporting and consolidation
  • Strong IFRS accounting and consolidation standard knowledge
  • Operating group reporting and consolidation for global companies in the automotive sector
  • Preparing, submitting, and filing IFRS Group Financial Statements preferably in the Japanese market
  • Working with external stakeholders, esp. auditors, consultants, and service providers
  • Ability to communicate with auditors and facilitate the audit process

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and operate effectively in a fast-moving, global environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent project management and delivery skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP / Glovia (or other ERP Systems) and HFM (or similar)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Business proficiency in English (required), Japanese (nice to have)
